I know this may sound a little bit silly, but can anyone provide a link to the sign up page for the Yahoo Publisher Network. I tried to look for it but I gave up. By the way, do they have any requirements and are they quick to approve you or reject you?

    http://publisher.yahoo.com

They are currently in BETA and accepts very few US only Publishers.
Approval rate is v low and Time they take to even let you know the status of your application is 1 week to 1 Month.

I appreciate the response. Wow you would think that since yahoo is the underdog that they would want to approve as many publishers as timely possible. I guess that is why they will always be the number 2.

Maybe they have a trick up their sleeve, maybe all this delay will result in something spectacular in the future.

It's just paid search. It's Google's primary revenue model for now. But it's just a small piece of the pie. That's why they are trying to buy so many other companies.

The real money is always on the back end and that requires capturing and retaining the masses. Who knows how Yahoo will do in the long run. But YPN isn't going to make or break them.

Google has plenty of lawsuits pending Paid Search and how they do it. What is Google without paid search?

I pretty much think Yahoo! must be rolling back YPN because its not getting out of BETA for more than a year while G tested and launched in matter of few weeks only.

It's a beta program. IMHO they have a small pool of advertisers who agreed to be in the beta stage, almost all US based companies. They do not want to loose money because yahoo contextual targeting is far to be ready and reliable . Yahoo is limiting damages by allowing only US traffic and US publisher. At least they mess up in only one country.
See it by advertiser's perspective: would you like to see your Beverly Hills Real Estate ads on a Bollywood celebrity site?
