Yahoo PPC Billing

    Hey,

I have been trying to find this out but couldn't figure it out. How does Yahoo handle the billing for campaigns? Is it like Adwords where you can put money into an account or is it different? I've worked with both Adwords and MSN adcenter, but heard that Yahoo is different?

    Could someone inform on this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

We have Yahoo setup to bill us $1000 in advance and then auto-refill when we have depleted our balance. We like to get our ads rolling and have found this method the best one to ensure there are no holes on our campaigns.

    Hope that helps!

Sounds a little bit extreme if thats the minimum to set an account up...I doubt it is? Is it?

Oh! No that's not the minimum, I think that's $25 or so.

Yahoo is also offering a $25 credit if you haven't had an account for the past 13 months and load a minimum of $35 in your account:

You can find it by logging into the yahoo site explorer (free to register) and then clicking on the ad - sometimes advertising works! ;)

    Hey Luigi,

Yahoo adds funds based on the following:
"The prior 3 days worth of click charges or 3 times your Account Daily Spending limit, whichever is lower, must be available in your account at all times in order to keep your ads online."

If you don't want this, you may need to ask Yahoo support by submitting their customer support form.

To answer the OP, it works the same as Google, so don't worry.

yahoo usually is set to auto-pay which means they bill your payment method automatically when you have less than 3 times your average daily spending limit.

however, you can have auto pay turned off and pay as you go, just contact them and ask

Once you have your account set-up, contact customer service to switch to pre-paid billing.

You can also get a $50 credit, I think the promo code is US2000
just look around online for the promos, if you don't get it credited in your account after signing up, call up customer service and they'll help you out

For Pre-Paid account all you have to do is sign up first then contact customer support and tell them that is what you want to do.

They will get back to you very quickly and you don't have to do anything but sit and wait less then 24 hours.

Terrible system. Upfront fine of course but they charge upfront and 3 days worth of anticipated spend in advance thereby eliminating the value of promos as you don't really get to spend them.

Panel is limited, options and geographic targetting almost zero. Serious lack of clarity. Scheduling set to their time zone not yours. Arrogant idiots.

CPC 3 times what I spend on Google. CTR a 1/3rd of googles.

I just closed my account. They can keep their promo as it wasn't really available.

They seem to me like amateurs copying the big boys and getting it so wrong.
