    I would choose Google than Yahoo. But Google is more strict in evaluating the site

    Google definetly gets more traffic.

    However, Yahoo has better Business to Consumer traffic.

    i dont think theres any obvious acceptation about that, i want to get your think to other point , if r going to spend your money about SEO , u may better go to google, when i spent time and money on SEO my sites with google , i got results better than yahoo , and earned more money of course , theres more profit , but again this is my opinion , and on the other hand i think its individual with every site.

    Well, Have A Good Luck Anyway!!

    Google is used more for search, at least I get more clicks from Google. But it was such a hard work to get Google to index more pages.

    I don't think that answers the original question of which is better Yahoo or Google but thanks for your input.

    I have found that I can get as many as 10 hits from Google for every 1 hit I get from Yahoo on terms which I am ranked #1 in both.

    Google gets the most searches by far. Yahoo is #2 and MSN is #3.

    If you poke around the internet you will find TONS of different opinions as to how many searches are performed with each search engine. The normal ranges of figures tossed around are:

    Google 55-60%
    Yahoo 21-25%
    MSN 10-15%

    However you also have to understand that people using different search engines don't necessarily search for the same thing.

    I recommend optimizing for Google first. It will undoubtedly bring you the most traffic and, in my opinion, it easier to rank in than Yahoo.

    I use google over yahoo. However, PR isn't an indication of use but popularity. Google is used more for search (aprox. 60%) but the Yahoo network gets more traffic overall.

    Yeah PR definitely isn't an indication of popularity!

    Yahoo has PR 9
    Google has PR 10

    Yahoo gets many more visitors/day though

    I think Google's PR algorithm includes the following lines of code:

    IF( url.name==yahoo.com AND url.PR > 9 )
    url.PR=9;

    haha

    I prefer Google. I'd imagine due to the popularity around where I live and on internet forums that it gets the most hits, I don't know. Yahoo! has the entire portal thing; with answers, games, groups, etc. so it probably gets more its hits altogether but in terms of search results I'd go with Google.

    It returns the best results usually anyway.
