I have been using a seo services to check my back-links which will reflect how many 'Yahoo' and 'Google' backlinks i have. Any one can enlighten me whether the number of 'yahoo' back-links that I have will improve my rank in Google? Thanks.
I don't think Yahoo back links will affect your Rank in Google. Both Google and Yahoo have their own algorithm to find sites and place them in their search results.
Thanks. Its more difficult to get google back-link than yahoo back-link. Any one got better ideas to get more backlink index by Google?
I use a program called Link Popularity Check 3.03 it’s a free program and you can add allot of sites. It breaks down the links by search engines, 6 of them. Yahoo always is the highest. I came up with an idea, it may hold no water but I like to look at it this way anyway. Google feeds on Yahoo links. I have about 431 Yahoo links and only 15 Google links. My site is a PageRank 3. Google links have to have good page content or a ring link to count. Pagerank is mostly controlled by link popularity. The first goal is a thousand links for page rank 3. To move up in PageRank you have to hit 2501 in bound links for a PageRank 4 or add some meaty content. Although not the rule if you have very high quality and original content you can score higher with fewer links. The more links in Yahoo, the more links I have in Google.
HI There, You can check Yahoo links to get more idea about your back links - but when ever google read your links you will get benefits so this again depends on BIG G. Thanks, SEOGET
I am also thinking that Every Search Engine have its own unique algorithm..so you cant have benefit from building backlinks in any single Search Engine..
Both search engines have their own algorithm. When checking your backlinks, Yahoo Site Explorer is a better system to see what links are pointing to your site. You will almost always show more links in Yahoo than in Google. G just chooses to show fewer links in their site reporting than Yahoo does, but you have the same number of links regardless of which system you use to check them. They are not "Yahoo back-links", or "Google back-links", they're just links to your site. All you're seeing is the search engines reporting system, which is what they choose to show you. You could have 2000 links, and yahoo may show you all 2000, while G may only show 700-1000. Just focus on building quality links to your site on an ongoing basis and you will get the benefit. Don't worry about how many links show up in the different reporting systems. If you want an unbiased look at your link structure, Xenu link sleuth is a great program for evaluating the links pointing to your site.
