a) Backlink from relevant sites using good anchor text.
b) Use absolute links not relative links. It will help you in the popular 3 search engines.
c) Good site structure means clear navigation is important.
d) Insert target keyword around 6%- 8% for yahoo.

I am not familiar with using good anchor text, absolute and relative link, and I do not understand percent of keywords.

Thanks a lot, yahoo optimization seems much easier for my sites however

 

I was using relative links. I had very few back links in yahoo then. Now absolute links increase the back links of my website in yahoo and have good results in yahoo. I was expected more tips but no one adviced me more tips.

 

The list is generally same as optimizing for google. I have done most of them but still, the result is not as satisfactory as with Google. It led me to conclude that the only way to top in yahoo is to pay the fee, which I think is out of the question. Yahoo doesn't give me as much traffic anyway.

It will only matter if you will be posting off-site, i.e. like posting to technorati, etc. relative links will not be accessible. I am using relative links throughout the site, but when I am referring to a site page in my blog, I use the absolute link of the site page.

 

This can make a difference in Yahoo I've seen. No difference at all in the other search engines though, I think it's because of the weight Y! gives to KIDs.
