    Yahoo now has APT!
    http://apt.yahoo.com/publisher

It looks aptly more complex , and more confusing!

One might think that they would fix what they already have, without embarking upon a hugely more complex endeavor. I don't think that trying to rewrite the rules is going to help them much at this point.

Looks like it's "apt" to fail. More of the same, hype without substance. Unified? Right. I'm going to feed Yahoo all my data?

The solution is not more.... of this or that. It's simply to build a better platform than Google. This doesn't look very Google crushing to me. Zero substance in the presentation, just marketing hype.

Its just hyped. I dont see anything different in it what is not already there elsewhere. yahoo needs to invent new buzzwords to get in the news time in and again because they cant be seen as sitting complacent while facing google domination

It's not hype; its marketing. Apple uses hype for its iPhone/iPod/iWhatever so why can't Yahoo?

I need to apologize. I thought I had a scoop here.
Next day I found out that they came out with APT on Sept. 4, 2008.
So now I feel kinda dumb. Except, how successful can it be, if I have never heard of it?

I don't think it is an acronym for anything. It started out as AMP!
But I vote for your name. They should use it! It's perfectly apt.
