I usually submit my site to around 300-400 directories which are well indexed and cached by google. I did submit some of my new sites to those directories some 20 days ago. Most of them have approved my sites. But still i can't find those links in yahoo search. I use this link:http://www.domain.com Yahoo is showing only 3 or 4 back links but I have submitted to around 350 directories and most of them are approved. Does yahoo take more than 20 days for scrolling and indexing directories back links?
I think you are worrying about the wrong things. I took 10 weeks and studied Yahoo!'s backlink counts for my sites. My conclusion is that there is little rhyme or reason to how and what they count (assuming they are listing 100% of what they have). You can read more about my findings in my article Backlink Madness - the title should tell you how I really think. Whether or not a site is a directory does not impact when Yahoo! counts them.
yahoo is more fast indexing than google, i cannot find the same situation, is it your individual case?!
To make such claims you should wait 20 more weeks, not days. 20 days is enough to index only a couple of pages if any at all.
My google backlinks always show up within a week. Yahoo is unpredictable. Sometimes they are faster and sometimes they take up to a month. I have a very nice yahoo directory list I just got my hands on. I just started submitting. If you are interested in swapping, let me know.
I saw the same thing happen to one of my sites a few months back, seemed like Yahoo didn’t like my directory listings or so I thought. 2-3 months later all was well and my directory links are now counted, got good PR too. Also depends on the quality of the directories that you used, I’m sure all will be well. Thanks Brian
You will definetly need to wait longer to see the results in yahoo site explorer. 20 days is no where near long enough. First your approved links need to be indexed then crawled for backlinks by yahoo which will more than likely take longer than 20 days.. probably 6-8 weeks at least before they start showing in siteexplorer
****MOST****** directories have no value and therefore the search engines see that, There are SOME good directories out there...but very few, Contact britishguy here and he can tell you what directories are worth something and what ones are not worth the time, Hope that helps !
