We have google ripping thru our sites and google generates a lot of good hits. Issue is yahoo is also crawling every day but it generates no hits at all or maybe one a month. Is there a way to assist yahoo? Seems strange that yahoo never returns us any hits?
yahoo seems only good for longtail for me.. msn was easy to dominat w onpage..and in google backlinks do the trick. def for me yahoo is hard to understand the algo.. they got a crazy se algo
So if no ones gets any real hits compared with google whats the point of allowing yahoo the band width to crawl your sites?
Yahoo does not send as much traffic to a site as google does. Even though I'm ranked well in google and yahoo for some of the same search terms I usually get much more traffic from google than I get from yahoo. I do not think there is anything you can do about it because yahoo is not as popular as google.
Yeah, I don't get many hits from Yahoo either. How can Alexa can be still ranking Yahoo as the number one website?! It seems like it's not being used that much.
Increase keyword density of the target keyword of the page. But it will create problem for you and google will penalize your website. I think google can give lots of traffic. So I am concentrating to optimize our website for google only.
I believe each search engine has its own crawl behaviors and algorithms. I notice my sites will vary differently on each search engine.
Thanks for the replies Issue is yahoo crawls every 3-4 minutes 24/7 and returns will may 1-2 hits a month Google crawls once every day as per our site map and returns well over a 1000 odd hits a day I dont want to adjust the site so google slows but there must be somethink a webmaster can do to get hits from yahoo? Or is this just normal? What is the point of yahoo then?
Understand that but if google likes the keywords how do you then make yahoo like then without loosing google hits? Keywords like buy sell exchange We are on the front page for this and same with google. Google for these keywords returns a hugh amount of hits?
