It's because most people don't use Yahoo to search for stuff despite being around longer than Google.
I still use Yahoo a lot as a user, and it's probably because they do Sports better than just about anybody on the internet, this side of ESPN, and that is my primary focus. People bag on them all the time about how they are dead, this and that, but if they dropped everything but their sports coverage and fantasy sports leagues, they would still be one of the biggest sites on the internet... Search might have been where they started, but I hardly think that is their primary concern these days.
I just typed this same thing in another thread. I was looking for a simple old-school java code that I desperately need, and I typed it in on Google, and after wading 17 pages deep (yes 17) I still couldn't find it. Went to yahoo, right there on the very top it was.
I prefer google over yahoo as do many people. Even when I had a yahoo search bar I would type in google.com. And as for yahoo mail, it has way to much spam. Google FTW
There's a lot of people that use both search engines. That's a good example of how you may get some yahoo traffic. Additionally, there are still loyal yahoo users and a lot of people use the Yahoo portal. Yahoo is good for sports and entertainment niches.
How to improve on that. I am receiving very less traffic from yahoo Can anyone help me to get traffic on http://www. http://european-pharmacy.eu/default_all.asp thanks Ranjan

Yahoo is almost the most visited site in the world because it offers a lot more than just a search engine.. Personally I like Yahoo's search engine, and their homepage is fantastic.. I think it is the most used because so many people choose it as a homepage, they really have that part covered...
If you want traffic for your site from yahoo target for your main keywords but if i were you i would Optimize my site for google
I get very little traffic from Yahoo on any of my sites. e.g. www.windychat.com Also, the $50 a month or so I spend in Yahoo PPC advertising is a waste - I never get any sales from it. I restarted my Google Adwords campaign a week ago and already have several sales. Eric
Anyone that new to internet use yahoo(Lokking at it's good appearance) and after sometime uses the google as search engine.
I think the type of people who use Yahoo are different from the type of people who use Google and have different interests. Question for those who are getting a lot of traffic from Yahoo - what type of topic attracts this traffic?
I still receive decent traffic from Yahoo. I deal with a lot of weather news breaking traffic from Google, and Yahoo takes about 12-14 hours to catch up sometimes with breaking current events.
i think Google is best if you would like to rank in Google you have to consider your keyword density title description and title .
