Any citizen who cares about his rights in Pakistan should be out marching in the streets in one of those angry demonstrations we normally see when a Jew spits on the sidewalk.

I think facebook and Youtube did a great wise job by NOT responding to this issue of blockage in Pakistan. If they did actually back down, then those sites would turn into a political twist. Any Muslim country can jump in next and demand rights, who knows, they might want control the whole facebook & youtube network.

They need their own little halal internet where they can bitch about Israel amongst themselves.

It'd be just like a mosque!

Imagine it - a thread like we get here, "Muslims kill 1000 people" would have everyone polite and agreeing.

The news is not true. These sites can never be banned in Pakistan.

One thing more, I am requesting everyone not to forget that this forum contains Pakistani people too. So you should not hurt our feelings by commenting on something which is not even true. And talking about something which you don't have any knowledge about.

So you are trying to say that all 'muslim based religious sites' are supporting terrorism???

You quoted me and masterrio - if you're going to do that please show who said what in the quotes.

I didn't say anything about terrorism - just that Muslims keep getting all riled up and protesting over sites like facebook - they should just have their own little web with no access to content that might get them all worked up.

For now, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided not to block 7 out of 9 sites, but just monitor them.

Some other sites have been blocked:

These sites can never be banned is just make up, it was a verdict given by your High Court in Pak. Now, it seems they are on radar. So you don't have the privacy on watching both ends of the coin now.

I never mentioned all Islam based sites are terrorist sites, I just claimed its another good way to support terrorism. If Pakistan govt./legal system is really interested in banning bad for the public, they must then ban the sites which provoke Jihad and other terrorist call sites, just like they are banning sites which are posting materials against Islam. You can't try to have 2 different tongues for it.

I never intended to hurt any one's feeling (in general). Its just a public opinion forum.

    peace!!!

In other words, you want to implement your own idiotic little censorship scheme.

I can't laugh at the idiots on the Pakistani high court without laughing at you -- trying to achieve the same goals of censorship.

Honestly, my Pakistani friends, you should understand that your government is acting like a holy cow to get an excuse to censor the internet in Pakistan. Its better you guys protest against it. The day may not be far when DP forum gets banned in Pakistan...considering there is so much healthy criticism of your country and its policies here.

In American kindergarten, children are taught this little rhyme "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

It appears that the average Paki doesn't know what an American kindergarten child knows.

That is a very useful rhyme indeed; kids should always remember it. Adults usually get the gist through experience.

There are some that don't, and they feel forever victimized
