Yahoo messenger will shut down Mar,2013

As the title says and the message inside Yahoo Mail says :

Yahoo Messenger will shutdown by the end of this month March,22,2013.

To help focus our efforts on core Yahoo! product experiences, we will discontinue Messenger in Yahoo! Mail Classic by Fri, 3/22/13. You can find more details about this here.​

What exactly is shutting down ?
- The Yahoo Mail Messenger is the service that Yahoo Inc. decided to shutdown. This service :

Where you used to chat with Yahoo Messenger friends from inside the Yahoo Mail Box.

Resolution
At Yahoo!, we’re focused on making your daily habits more inspiring and entertaining. That means we’re constantly reviewing our products and experiences and in some cases, have to make tough decisions to no longer support a product.

After much thought, we have decided to shut down Messenger in Yahoo! Mail Classic by March 22, 2013. This means that you will no longer be able to send IMs to your contacts from Yahoo! Mail Classic.

Please note that you still have two possible ways to use Yahoo! Messenger:

• Upgrade to the new Yahoo! Mail, where Messenger continues to be available. You can then send IMs directly from your inbox, as you did before.
• Use the Yahoo! Messenger client. If you don’t already have it, you can download the Yahoo! Messenger client here.

What exactly should you do ?
- Absolutely nothing, you need to do nothing about it. If you chat with friends using Yahoo Messenger Service then you will keep using the Yahoo Desktop Messenger.

- You can upgrade to Yahoo Plus to enjoy the Mail Messenger.

They shut down only in classic.. but I never use messenger in mailbox..

@Jesse27..allot of people still use Yahoo Messenger. It doesn't surprise me to see them get rid of the old classic version though.

 

@Jesse27, still, a lot of people use YM, although I have skype, whatsapp and wechat..
A lot of my contact are still comunicate using YM..

It should be shut down after Gtalk & skype came . Now there is no use of Yahoo

 

I love using the application anyway, so i don't really care i they shut it down

 

I'm not sure it shuts down or not as it passed the time and I'm able to use my Yahoo messanger as I was using before.
