Yahoo messenger and Windows server 2003

    Hi everyone reading this thread,

    I faced a problem and did not find an answer online.
    The other day wanted to install Yahoo Messenger on Ms Windows server 2003, but did not manage. Does anyone know where is the problem and is there a way to install Yahoo IM?

    My Idea on this:

    I guess it is based on the compatibility of your YM and the OS.
    Be sure that the Yahoo Messenger you were using is compatible with the MS Windows server you have.
    I not sure if i am right with this.
    Its only an experience explanation.

    I had installed Yahoo Messenger 9 on Windows 2003 (Testing server) and it was working fine without any issue. Are you receiving any error message?

    No error message - I only noticed that part of setup is missing (i.e. smth is not installed)

    Then just Re-download the messenger and try a clean install :) Make sure that you use some form of a registry cleaner to make sure that no extra entries remain that might mess up another installation :)

    Now you need not even install Yahoo Messenger on your Windows Server 2003. Instead you can access it just like googletalk on yahoomail website itself. So just open your browser and log in to yahoo mail and you can chat now.

    So don't worry about installing it.

    Using the messenger through browser will be the solution because there seem to be too limited rights on my computer which don't allow me install them.
