    yep...
    1. probably someone using your account ( email ) for spamming
    2. someone trying to log-in to your email account ( 3 times you enter the wrong password, usually your account is locked ) ...

Like all of you I never heard or faced something like this before.

I cannot assure that my email address is not used for spamming, but atleast I didn't sent emails from that account not even a single email/day from that account.

In my observation the only reason for this is because yahoo now offers unlimited storage, and I receive thousands of emails/day (from different yahoo groups) may be they call it unusual activity.

I encountered this problem myself and found a way to solve it.

I deleted a bunch (over a hundred) of my old emails and everything returned to normal.

Turns out that yahoo's unlimited mail promotion is a hoax... it's still limited to about 1 gigabyte per user. They're using the "Unusual Activity Detected" message to cover this up.

The truth is that Gmail still currently has the most free storage available on the net. And yahoo's "Unlimited Storage" is just a publicity stunt.

I wish they'd just tell the truth about their limited storage rather than make their users panic.

I do not think this can be the reason, if so yahoo will loose a good amount of loyal users fast.

My account is back to normal automatically without deleting any email, Further in my opinion my yahoo mailbox size is definately more than 1 GB may be over 2 Gb (I haven't found any way to check the size of my mailbox yet.)

    thanks anyways for your comments
