Here's what I got when I try it today.

And yes, it should be awarded "the slowest mail of the world". At least, it's the award winning mail service.

i've been extremely disatisfied with it for a long while now.
i switched back over to regular months ago.

the new mail was extremely slow and annoying. both back when it first started and even to this day.

Exactly .... Yahoo Mail Beta is developed with a couple of things in mind:

You need to have Windows Xp ( with SP2 if you want better performance)
You require High speed net ( atleast not dial up connection)

It was too slow for me, and I'm not on a slow connection (not terribly fast either, but still). I switched back when I did not get reliable results when trying to clean out my (very full) bulk mail.

it's running for over a year. Do u still think it is in Beta?

I have used Yahoo mail beta. But i didn't like it. May be because i think it was too slow for me. Previous version gave me much speed than this. If ajax can't speed up the access then why should i use it. So i switched back. I think Gmail is the best Ajax based Web Client.

Gmail is indeed a beta service, just look at the Gmail logo next time you login!

And Gmail was already very good even during the first few months of it.

I've just voted for no not satisfied. The problem I faced is when I click on inbox it most of the time shows blank inbox while I have 400 unread messages!!! Yahoo should take this issue very seriously, there are many other mail providers who (msn beta also) provides outlook looking mailbox. rediffmail also provides same kind and it's very fast.

well for me yahoo always sucks...coz they force a lot of ads to the users, and most imp they are not relevent...and those flash & banner ads distract a lot!

And most imp yahoo & hotmail both don't take you directly to inbox, instead they first show you the first page full of ads, then you need to cleck on the inbox link to check your mails:(

And yahoo beta is very slow, allthough they copied the full outlook's look which is gud, but still its very slow:(

And when you compare this to gmail,
1.They take you directly to inbox
    2.It is very fast.
3.There is no distracting banner or flash ads...the only ads you get is when you read mails that too are quite relevent...infact i use to click on those ads some times...coz they are relevent to my mail:)

i haven't had any negative experiences with it (functionality), but i agree that all the banner ads suck, and not opening on the inbox page is counter-intuitive
