I recommend getting your sites listed in the Yahoo Local Directory results by their free submission or basic listing before everyone catches on and the prices go up, up and way up.

From what i've seen of the yahoo local, it is similar to google local and seems to get it's results from phonebook listings.

But in the directory, it was easy to get into yahoo via the local listings. Now they charge $299 for a commercial listing (recurring annually) it's just getting harder. Good thing that I submitted and got listed back in 2000 when it was free...

Who knows, maybe I can get some hits... Has anyone had any traffic increase by being in the local directory?

    Thanks for the tip virginia.

I've been in local for about 1.5 months and have never had a referral. But to be fair, my business is international so I would not expect people searching for our services in the town we are located in.

I wasn't aware there was a Yahoo! Local. Thanks for the tip!
