Originally,I have link count on yahoo around 5100, but it suddenly become 1750 today. My SERP is dropped a lot. Originally, my home page is on 1st page with keyword "wedding favors", but it drop to 148, and this is not pointing to my home page, but pointing to my inner page. Where is my position point to my home page?

try to build on quality link buildings and may be yahoo has dropped down some links. Or links can be deleted from the site.

see may be this is the start...
    of penalty..
    try to make new content....
and good seo back linking techniques...
May be this is an preliminary notification form Google..
So stop spamming for some time and also reduce some off site work and carry on with some good on site work...

I didn't do any spamming at all. I don't see any problem in google webmaster tool, except some html errors, but these shouldn't impact the link counts

I have experiences similar. However, I had seen this happens a few days ago and came back. I think it just a fluctuate and some major update is going on. I would recommend you do not worry too much about it.

I too had this happen a few days ago. Dropped on 26th back to normal 28th. About 35 out of 40 of my sites had their Yahoo backlinks half. The sites were on 2 different IP addresses. It stayed at half for 2 or 3 days then it went back to normal. I was using SEOQuake to view the backlinks. It worried me at the time but its back to normal now so I am happy :)

The same thing has happen to me but it started on the 29th and was first on partners for AltaVista and AllTheWeb then later on that day on yahoo itself and I have been on the first page of all 3 for a 2 months now for my keyword. today I am not even in the top 1000 for my keyword.

I have done nothing new and am still on Google fine and I have vary few backlinks on the site and no spam type of stuff so I am guessing there doing some type of update or something. I hope so atleast as have my hits come from yahoo.

Yeah, Yahoo is going to be posting up Bing results. So, I'm not really sure what you'll have to do. Maybe start worrying about your Bing rank?

I hope thats not true as BING sucks. They take so long to do any type of update on there stuff. It sucks as it takes 4 months for them to add anything

I have seen some of mine drop a lot 1 day and come back the next. I don't recall if it was 2/3, but it was quite a bit. A day or so later they came back. Not sure what was up with that.

Are you doing a lot of blog commenting?

There seems to be a massive influx of links after one does blog comments on their site, only to see it drop after a few weeks.

This is because of all those blogs that list the "recent comments" on every page of your site. Make one comment, and you suddenly have 5k links!
