Hi everyone, not sure but is it possible that Yahoo Japan and Google cooperate? I can't post the link but i am not kidding. Anyone familiar with this?
This maybe a result of the earthquake and the tsunami. Many big corporations would like to help them.
CNN article from July 2010 states: "Yahoo Japan has chosen Google, rather than Microsoft, to provide its search engine results and advertising."
that's right.. besides google been doing this ever since, they been cooperation with other private or public companies concerning such events..
News in BBC on 27 July 2010 says "Yahoo Japan has said that it will adopt Google's search engine technology." Yahoo Japan is the most popular search engine website in Japan. It has about a 57% share of the market, while Google's share is just over 30%. Microsoft has a share of about 3%.
Thats interesting news for me, seems like as though Yahoo Japan is not connected to Yahoo in other countries where they rely on Bing?
Interesting market stats Jeff. Thanks for sharing. By partnering with Google, the combined entity will dominate the Japanese search market with over 87% market share. I wonder if this will raise any anti-trust concerns with the Japanese regulators?
