there is pros and cons with google and yahoo. yahoo is much slower updating the serp. this will minimise the spam posting or sites form listed top.
They may be the worst search engine but the only one good thing they are doing is their api! Yahoo's api service is very good!
I personally think they've gone downhill. That's probably one of the many reasons their CEO is no longer their CEO.
dude are you serious??? Yahoo is the worst because of one phrase? I GUARANTEE Google has plenty of phrases that it sucks horribly for as well and I don't even use it... ever! For example, do a search on google for: best search engine You don't find Yahoo or Google in the top 10 or even top 50 results (I'm not sure where they are because I stopped after page 5!) Now, do the same search on Yahoo... the results: 1.) search.yahoo.com 2.) google.com 3.) dogpile.com 4.) altavista.com 5.) webcrawler.com perfect... just as you would expect so is Google the worst because it doesn't even return itself in the top 50 results for "best search engine"???
in a perfect world a search engine would only display one result - MY site(s). Lolmao .) Maybe with a disclaimer that all the other sites suck But..seriously...how should that be feasable ? That's like borderline communism what you propose there
I'm sure you're right. It probably went something like this: "Well guys, I make $70+ million a year and I work for a company that makes billions every year and is the most sought after website in the world but gee whiz, when someone does a yahoo search for "webmaster forums", digital point is no where to be found. Therefore, I am resigning immediately as I refuse to work for a company that won't rank digital point for that one search phrase." Let's hope google's ceo's don't do a google search for "best search engine" huh? (see my above post)
Did you know that most computer have a Microsoft software and MSN is there Default search engine and some of my quality traffic and sale are came from that search engine. I just notice that.
This thread was started purely on opinion, and there's little value in debating what we like and dislike as our favorites. Call me crazy, but I like numbers. Google is my primary referrer, so I care about them most. Yahoo! is second, MSN is third, etc. down the line. Who cares how the results are if we're here as webmasters looking to use these engines a sa vehicle to drive visitors to our sites? Each of the three engines have their own holes and weaknesses... It's up to us to use the knowledge of those to our advantage.
i agree with those XD. anyway yahoo is weird to me. some keywords i was on no.1 while google put on 6th, some not even in top50 while google gave my site around ~30 for other keywords. i dont know which one is better now XD
for me it depends on where I think my majority of organic traffic is coming from. currently, they are neck and neck within a hundred or so of each other for my first site in sig. I want my visitors to be as organic as possible. and they both send organic visitors. unfortunately, i cannot get on msn's list yet.
how stupid can you be as not to rank digital point high on webmaster forum search. Probably a search engine where the people can vote for the position that a site has , would be efficient/
