Yahoo and MSN are easy to rank high in. In less than a month i already rank 1+2+3 spots in both engines.
G on the other hand doesn`t love me yet...

Yahoo isn't so bad to rank in, but it isn't worth the time. Focus on Google. My #3 rank in Google brings 20x the traffic of #1 in Yahoo.

I agree, my sites rank much better in Yahoo but the amount of traffic those bring me is awful... I just wish I could get my Google rankings up though!

"Yes, to get listed in Yahoo with a new subject or product is easy"

if you are in a saturated industry that Yahoo makes lots of money through Overture it is difficult.

    I pose a competition.

Try this......Optimize the words "Acne products" vs "Leather sofas"

The Acne will take you years to get anywhere, where as the leather sofas no one cares about and thus Yahoo doesn't have a problem ranking you higher.

Why would they put you on top within a couple months when they can force you to pay $1.00-$2.00 a click for the word "Acne"

For those people that say "yahoo is easy" list your query right here in this thread if your going to make those claims.

I personally happen to agree with the thread starter. Yahoo is hard to list with. I don't count on listing in Yahoo for 3 years.

I have one site "discount pharmacy" that is its main query and for 2 years now Yahoo has only managed to index 300 pages out of 10000. Why???? Because the word "pharmacy" goes for around $1.00 to $2.00 a click.

Google has all 10000 pages indexed.

Hmm.. I have the opposite experience. I find it easy to rank well in Yahoo! and hard to get a good spot in Google.

Yahoo is very weird. Some of my sites with poor content rank well, while my good sites rank poorly.

Arghhhhhh, I am getting tired of reading this thread.

People, back up your statements with what you are trying to target so we all can learn something here. Isn't that what we are all here for?

For those of you that say its easy lets see what you are targeting.

For those of you that say its hard lets do the same.

Here I will try again....I once built a site with the query "Laser Eye Surgery Clinic in Seattle" It was very easy to get into Yahoo for that.

Try "Laser Eye Surgery" on its own. Watch how hard that is to get on Yahoo.

I have some key words taht rank relatively well in yahoo but bring me no traffic compared to what I get from google with a similar rank placement, so I have also basically given up on yahoo...

I am really surprised the Yahoo portal generates so much traffic for them, yet you hardly get anything from good rankings with them

I have the sites among them 1 Rank Good in Yahoo And Completely not listed in Google other Ranks same for competitive keywords well in both Yahoo And Google.

I have a site that Ranking no.2 for the Term "Free Blog Hosting" and now dropped to No.7 On Yahoo ... But the same site didnt even Rank in Google for the same term. What i guess is Google dont like my nature of business thats why it is not even listed in Google for the term "Free Blog Hosting" Though the site achive PR5. And it is now 1yr old site.

From the example above it looks wired with the same techniques on all the site all my sites rank well in Both Yahoo and Google .. But the problem is only with one site that Rank Well in Yahoo and not in Google.

And i am confused with the results of this particular site.
