I don't think so. I haven't heard anything about this and I highly doubt they'd shut down such a program out of no where like that. DO you have a link to prove this?

This is the part that counts.

Does that mean that I should stop using Site Explorer?

No. In a large part of the world, we have not yet transitioned to Microsoft search platform. Hence, it is important that Yahoo! continues to receive your site/sitemap submissions so that search results from Yahoo! are fresh and relevant for markets that have not switched over. In order to continue to receive relevant organic traffic from Yahoo! search results, we encourage you to continue using Site Explorer as you have in the past until we fully switch over to Microsoft search platform for organic results.

It will probably be automated (the shift) and webmasters like you and me won't notice a thing except the UI change. It happened like this when Google acquired Feedburner or Youtube.

Really? I sometimes use Yahoo's site explorer tool and I think it's very useful. I've never used Bing to find backlinks for my sites. I also heard that Yahoo would also close Delicious.

Yes, that's true. They are concentrating more on Bing to compete with Google ;)

My company was using all the three from google, yahoo and bing. while we found google to fast and indexing and also showing the data well, the other two were slow, and bing and yahoo gave almost similar details. I feel they were already displaying the same data, except the traffic. I might not change that much by yahoo closing it.
