When I check Inlinks on Yahoo I have noticed the ranking of the sites has remained steady over the years, with the top 10 staying pretty much the same. I was surprised the other day after we got a link on Smarty.net, because it jumped right into the #3 spot. So there must be some factors for ranking. For example, since Smarty.net is an authority site, maybe it was bumped up some. Any thoughts?
myabe, maybe not.. it depends on the time crawling and indexing of the site.. and of course that site that links to you.. they also might the reason..
They definitely rank them according to certain factors. I read somewhere that Yahoo Inlinks are ranked according to the age of the domain, but this is not true (at least not in my case). Checking my sites i noticed that the top inlinks have a few things in common: -Large amount of inlinks -Higher PR -Age
Hmm, i really dont think because of page rank, because page rank is importance for google, and yahoo does not care page rank.
Sometimes it happens but you can't just say for certain that it really was the case or you cannot determine that these types of things will happen like this all the time. Domain age, links and content all play a vital part and you cannot leave one thing out as that might be the determining factor.
