Why does yahoo index way more pages than google and msn? I've noticed when I checked link popularity for a few sites -- over 8000 for one of my site from yahoo, 100 from google and 4000 from msn. All the sites I've checked, yahoo had more pages. Why? Well I know its good when searching but it seems that they index anything and everything.

are you talking about link popularity or pages indexed?

I don't think any Search Engine indexes more pages than Google. With regards to backlinks, Google only shows you a small sample of your backlinks while Yahoo shows all links that it finds. If you use Google sitemaps, then log in and you can see a larger number of your Google backlinks

I am talking about both indexes and backlinks -- Google provides less than 50 for each, yahoo provides thousands.

Google indexes MORE pages than Yahoo! But google do not consider all links to your website as 'relevant'. So, only relevant links on pages with more than a pr zero would be considered as a backlink.

Well I'm just a little confused now lol, I still see more indexed pages in yahoo for a few sites than google -- oh well, we can leave it, I'll just have to get it later then

Yes yahoo and msn is easier to get traffic they don't sandbox you so easy.
I know this is a very unused word but for a corporate credit site i have i used the word aged corporation and reddi corp i get #1 placements for both and i had them after 2 months of having the site. New url where i didn't see the company no where on google. Google penalized the non aged url i assume

its not that google penalized the non aged url.

it takes a while for your incoming links and domain to fully mature
