Yahoo! has a conscience?

So, Yahoo has a conscience now? The company is becoming green friendly? They even have a dedicated page for their save the world campaign. Linked right beside their link for OMG! beside their "MORE SERVICES" button on the main Yahoo! website. Yahoo may begin to lose some business if their users are seeing that they are focusing toooo much on global issues as opposed to just helping them. I think Yahoo is just finally realizing how many mistakes they have made in the past and want to change them. Are they going too far? Probably. Is it going to make them look absolutely stupid over a few things. But who cares what we think about yahoo. The only reason Yahoo is still in existence is because Google has allowed them to remain a part of the Internet.

Google has allowed them to remain a part of the Internet? Are you kidding me? Google may have the biggest search market share, but they are not powerful enough to eliminate one of the longest established search engines/portals. If they were capable of that, they would've happily gobbled up the 10% or whatever share Yahoo has these days.

I'm not sure why you would criticize their decision to promote green friendliness. Countless big companies have jumped on that bandwagon and it could only help their public image. I don't see that having any kind of negative impact.

I would expect more changes around Yahoo with their previous CEO Jerry Yang gone.

oh man, Digital Point should create a forum section for:

    1) people to hate on Yahoo
    and
    2) people who have no clue what they are talking about

this thread belongs in both those sections

If Google could've taken Yahoo's 1/4 share of internet searches they would've done so by now. Google is not a god.

There are thousands of reasons people use Yahoo. Search is just one of them.
