Hi bought a domian with pr4 the other day and it does not have any google backlinks but alot of yahoo links and about 20 alexa links. what does this mean? if it has no links in google then the pagerank must be invalid?? why do domains/sites always have more yahoo links than google links?
Not necessarily. Run your domain through http://www.checkpagerank.net/ to make sure. Google often displays less links than Yahoo. Maybe you would have been better off checking before you bought the domain, but hey - maybe next time If you set up webmaster tools on your domain, then you will be able to see how many links Google has cached. The chances are it will be similar to what Yahoo is showing. HTH
check info:domainname query on google to confirm that it's not a redirected pagerank. Since you own the site, you can see the 'real' backlinks using google webmaster tools.
register with google webmaster tools, then you can check all the backlinks to your site, shows a lot of links than normal command which we use at google link:www.siteurl.com Code (markup):
