I got an email today about Yahoo getting their hands on Myspace. Do you think it'll get cleaned up a bit now? http://www.ineedhits.com/free-tools...ce-for-25-stake.aspx?source=NL07-06-26Bblog1h
The news is old ... http://www.socialpacks.com/2007/06/21/is-yahoo-buying-myspace-for-25-of-its-shares/ Since 21st June no one confirmed it yet!
No, myspace is not worthing 25% of Yahoo. Myspace is going down, they have a little potential for advertising because of the people that have myspace accounts and their age. Despite public perception, most MySpace users are over 35, according to a release today by ComScore, but i think this report is paid by myspace for marketing. How did ComScore arrive at this average age - by the age submitted for MySpace profiles? Like when 95% of all under 14 year olds (have to fudge to meet TOS’s) claim to be 90 years old. Just think the numbers being quoted may be a little skewed - and perhaps not a bad PR move for MySpace in a blogosphere where the adults/parents get their information. Just food for thought. The big fear from an investment point of view has been that MySpace et al will struggle to sustain their businesses. Now there is or not a evidence of the ageing demograhpic profile of users a large part of that concern (i.e. that social networks are just for kids) is receding. also remain the quetion how many of them are buyers?
I enjoyg myspace because of music. I hate myspace because of spam. I appreciate that it was sort of originally created as a spamming idea, but it's annoying and feels like an invasion sometimes. Is that possible? Invasion of privacy out in the public? I don't understand why teens forge their ages in their profiles at myspace. I'm not catching on with that one. I have no teen or 90 year old friends on myspace (as far as I know!). As for the Yahoo deal. I am confident (because I'm hoping) this will go through. We need a little cleaning up.
good post, just learned something from you regarding to myspace. but i still knew little about it, no interests on sharing my own personal stuff on such a big communities. I know lots of people do, but it is not my style
MySpace continues to be at the top of the current search terms. I've never seen it out of the top five. http://www.wordtracker.com/topkeywords.html MySpace may be "going down", but they're not getting there too quickly.
Really interesting But if they are going to buy myspace then they are going to do a big mistake! as instead of concentrating on their core area of search they are concentrating on a unknown commodity!
Good god. I thought MySpace was spammy right now. Yahoo gets ahold of it, and your monitor will burn out from too many ads being rendered at the same time.
I saw somewhere in this forum that Myspace was voted the worst site in the net...Yahoo will only face problems if they buy Myspace
