Can anyone share any success of failure stories about submitting their website to Yahoo's directory. I've been thinking about it, but at $300 a pop, i would have to have some faith in the system.

Well, it's not really my success but a know someone who's sites are banned in yahoo index. But Yahoo is still his top 2 source of traffic because his sites are listed in yahoo. And this traffic is not little. :D

I am having 4 sites in yahoo directory but there is neither ranking in yahoo SERP and nor getting traffic from directory. So I don't think it is worth of $300

Depends on site. It's worth if you sell/promote "expensive and/or competetive stuff" and so on.

This question has been asked and answered a hundred times on DP. You can do a search to see all the different opinions, but $300 yr is a very small investment for a site you are serious about. Don't expect much traffic, but it can help both your yahoo and google SERPS - which doesn't mean it is going to take a site ranking 200 and move it into the top 10.

If you only have $500 or so a year to spend on promotion, then I would probably pass on the directory.
