Yahoo Directory Submit worth 299 $ ?

    Hi,

Submission to Yahoo Directory is 299 $, so I'm looking for some experience you had with it:
    • have you seen an increase in traffic since your site is in the directory ?
    • apart from trafic, what are the other advantages of being listed ?
    • are many directories / search engine using the Yahoo Directory for their own results ?

I'm trying to figure out if spending my next 300$ should be in Yahoo Directory or elsewhere...

    Thanks !
    Yannick

Yahoo is a good directory but not good enough for this amount of money. With $300 you can submit your site to 7 - 10 other quality web directories probably as good as Yahoo if not better.

(Also bear in mind this is a yearly fee not permanent inclusion)

i managed to get into the yahoo directory for free, that was some long time back, did not knew why the site got removed from there:eek: but then i did not get any traffic from the yahoo dir!!
it is basically up to you to decide, after all its a PR5-6 or 7 page that is linking to your site!

For Yahoo submit your web site through their standard submission form which is free, I do not see any point of paying them such money.

They have free service too, I don't think $299 will worth that you may expecting, also there is no guarantee of submission.

For $299 is really worthless.. They don't bring any traffic.. You can use the money to submit at another quality directory..

I talk because I one have domain there..

The Yahoo directory will help your site "indirectly"", it is hard to see it unless you're very detail oriented to see the advantage. If you have the money don't think twice, but again with that money you can also get more result from other directories.

I guess this directory is for those that spend A LOT OF MONEY and three hundred is nothing for them.

I've tried that free submission every couple of months for three years. No success for my nonprofit site.

I've found that the better represented a category is, the less likely it is to get a free listing. Could this be the case?
