I do not own a credit card. I use a service called NetSafe by my bank HDFC for online purchases and PayPal registration/verification. It basically takes money from my Debit card and creates a virtual Visa credit card which would expire in 48 hours. Now, can I use this to pay for the $299 submission charge? Will it work? Cause this is a recurring payment.
Try it as you are intending to pay the charge so if it completes then you are 'up and running' For recurring that can be dealt with at a later date, as the payment is not due now If you payment does not complete then you will have to look to alternative methods
mad4, yeah, I tried already, but I guess my site howtobefunny.net falls under commercial category which is not free.
britishguy, well, I am guessing the payment would complete, but how would I deal with the recurring payment when the card number no longer exists? And, surely, in the first payment, they don't ask you to authorise recurring payment with the same card?
mad4. That page says "Paid listing is 'Required to submit commercial listings but available for any site.'" My site is howtobefunny.net By the way, if I do get my site listed in UK Directory, will it show relevant results when people from US do the search in Yahoo! or Google? I get maximum sales from the States. Thanks, Stan. P.S.: And, that PM?
Can you create another virtual card when it's time for renewal? Or are you limited to creating a virtual card only during a purchase (never used one so I'm not familiar)? Check your PM shortly.
I would give the free one a try first but if that fails try the other one. The Yahoo directory won't give you any traffic but its a good link to help your rankings.
CReed, I can create as many virtual cards as I want whenever I need to. Each is valid only for 48 hours though. Does Yahoo! provide an option to use a different card each time to pay for the annual recurring subscription fee? mad4, so I could try the free submission even though it says non-commercial sites only? Okay, I will give it a try and wait a month or so. And yeah, its for the rankings I am trying to get the site listed. But, I am not sure a small, purely commercial site like mine (howtobefunny.net) would get listed in the free method. Anyway, I would give it a try because anyway I was planning to submit it after a month or so only (need to save up). Thanks! Stan.
