I have a web design business in Australia and I am constantly trying to build my website and links to it. A lot of people say that it is important to have site submitted to yahoo and dmoz. Is yahoo really still worth it?
My final goal is more clients

i was under the impression that all commercial sites must be submitted under paid submission but when i read this,

it appears that only US based commercial sites are required to pay fees for commercial site listings. very interesting.

@OP, yes, these are the top 2 directories so i would go ahead and submit to these 2 directories. since they are free, you got nothing to lose

I handled lots of site that are not listed in dmoz and yahoo but they still rank well, even for my blogs.

my site already comes up for the search somehow. even though i never submitted it to yahoo.
I am basically aiming at getting more exposure.
Would you recommend any directories for services or general sites where I can pick up some web design work.
