My current opinion on Yahoo Directory is that it must be worth it. The vast majority of top 10 google results all have it.

    Market Samurai data:
"dog training" top 10 Google sites: 9/10 have Yahoo Directory
"golf" top 10 Google sites: 10/10 have Yahoo Directory
"cancer" top 10 Google sites: 7/10 have Yahoo Directory
"iphone" top 10 Google sites: 10/10 have Yahoo Directory

I'm curious if anyone has ever tested the PR benefit from signing up to the yahoo directory?

It seems that a lot of the top niche sites have it when I search in Market Samurai for different niches. So I suppose that's an answer in and of itself. I highly doubt that the large majority of successful niche websites just coincidentally happen to all be yahoo directory sites, but who knows for sure, maybe it is unnecessary compared to other lifetime directory sites that don't charge annually.

    $299 = 10 x $29 lifetime directory sites... every year...

But then again, I bet there's a lot of scraping of the Yahoo directory which equals more backlinks...

It's hard to weigh the pro's and con's without any test data to validate either decision. Who's purchased the Yahoo Directory and regretted it? And vice versa, who are the happy yahoo directory customers?

From this data it looks like yahoo directory is a must. If you guys want me to run another keyword for your niche let me know, it's kinda fun figuring out all of this stuff.
