Yahoo! Directory: a quick little fact

A little thing I noticed today about Yahoo! Directory.

Not counting all the renewals and assuming the following submissions were paid for:

Yahoo! Directory made $54,418 with 182 new submissions today.

There sure is money to be made in the directory industry, if you put your heart and pocket into it.

 

interesting observation. even if half are full priced and paid for, that's still a hell of a payday for 1 day.

 

google will make a directory soon as well

 

I wonder what will happen once this becomes a reality. hrmmm..

Will google then start to devalue other types of directories? Oh that's something to think about.

 

Eh i tought google had a directory already, based on dmoz data?Why would they change that? $50,000 a day wont affect them.

 

Never. We make Google successful and the worst thing for them to do is devalue their following of webmasters.

 

for google $50,000 is less then a penney's worth

Those two guys make millions a day.

Lot more money then we could imagine.

And I am not predicting that they go for that little money.
