Yahoo Data Center Access

    Hi all,

I just found this forum... wondering what took me so long. I've been developing some websites, mostly IDN. This looks like a great resource to learn about SEO and web building strategies.

So, I've been developing some Japanese websites and came across a peculiar problem. It appears that different data centers accessed by Yahoo.co.jp when I do a search provide different results (not surprising). However, my home computer has recently defaulted to a data center that does not provide many IDN results. From traffic patterns it's fairly obvious that rankings have not shifted much, but I can't see them. You can imagine how annoying this is when you're trying to determine your sites position.

So my question... is there any way to specify a data center to search or to get search results based on a geographic location (Japan)? I'm mainly concerned with Yahoo because of it's overwhelming market share in Japan.

    Thanks in advance.

Yup, I always search on Yahoo.co.jp. It used to be an intermittent phenomena that unicode URLs would not get listed. I didn't quite understand it at the time, I thought my rankings where fluctuating wildly. Now, I can't see any unicode URLs at all - at least for the past 3-4 days.

    Strange indeed.
