Yahoo crawl

Yahoo crawls my site virtually every day, quite heavily. The pages it is showing in its results though are weeks old. Is this normal? Its a pain in the bum coz its taking weeks to find out teh effect of the SEO changes im making.

any thoughs?

 

This is a normal Y! behaviour if you have a lof of pages on your site. Y! must learn to update its datacenters more often.

 

I aint even got a site listed in yahoo

 

Try getting as many back links as you can.

 

I have 40k+ backlinks in Y!, having said that it updated recently and I saw a huge jump in the SERPS for a lot of my terms, so im quite happy

 

Yahoo seems to crawl quite a bit but only updates about once a month. Hence my signature...

Hi - I also find that Yahoo cached pages only seem to update monthly. If you take a look at the dates of cached pages for some top websites you will see that they are often pretty much up to date. So all you have to do is become a top website! Seriously, I agree, it would be better if they updated more frequently. Good luck.

 

I experience the same.... yahoo bot almost residing on my server.... but instead of increasing the index pages it's dropping.

 

So yahoo crawls, but doesn't reflect the changes for a month? So it's updating more than google?

 

Google updates all the time.
