I notice that Yahoo.com is starting to show up a lot as the FIRST result in my Adsense blocks. Is this another lower-paying site? My guess is yes. Should we block them like ask.com, ebay.com, shopping.com, target.com, etc., etc.?
I don't think its having low paying rate, it should have high rate otherwise yahoo shouldn't be there beating all other competitors Keep it there and see what happens after 1 or 2 days, then take the action.
For many months now, Google has not been using a strictly "competitive bid" system. They have been mixing in VERY low-paying ads, even at the top. They leave it up to us to filter out the ads we don't want. These low-paying ads have to be served SOMEWHERE due to required Adwords account budgets, and we are it. It is up to us to filter out the lowest-paying ads that they serve us, NOT up to them. That's the way they set it up. Have you not noticed the dufus ads from ebay? From ask? I don't think that these ads are EVER the best choice - just ads that Google must display to get the money. If they don't serve them to us, who are they going to serve them to? Here is an example. I have a page about a diagram of the heart. CLEARLY, HEART. The first ad is from Yahoo, and it offers "Everything Diagram". They have gone from the specific to the general, rendering the ad worthless. Anyone interested in a "heart diagram" doesn't give a d@mn about any other kind of diagram. .
I use adsense in my file hosting site, and most of the time i see homehosted, fasthosting, uk2 ads. Others randomizes every time. Though, few times i see the yahoo small business ads regarding their new package of unlimited hosting, till far the earning hasn't been decreased. Whats the url you are seeing on the yahoo related ads?
Have you checked the url its pointing or the Url its showing in green color? Few cases, i have seen people spoofing these types of domains with backing some fake pages, those are definitely low paying ads. I have seen them several times using "Adsense Preview Tool". Are you using that tool? Its very helpful to find out the true MFA/Low Paying sites.
I always block out all these big sites they're just bound to be cheap, because they;re already famous....
mello-h - "Currently, the preview tool is only available for Windows versions of Internet Explorer version 6.x." I am a Mac person, so no cigar for me. I tried to get the Mac Preview tool from softpedia, but it doesn't download. Lookforav - Yeah, I agree with that. In general, the bigger the Adsense advertiser, the less they pay. Block the big guys, and make more money. Does anybody else think otherwise? We are all going to get the "big-guy" ads, since they must be served somewhere. But that doesn't mean we have to settle for the low payouts.
OK. Good enough for me. I blocked Yahoo. And I will be looking for About and Amazon. So, what should the "Low-Paying, Big Company List" look like? About.com Amazon.com Ask.com Dealtime.com Dogpile.com eBay.com Live.com Shopping.com Shopzilla.com Target.com Webcrawler.com . Since there are only 200 URLs to block, most of your blocked sites will apply to your niche. But blocking the Top 20 low-payers could be the best approach for MOST publishers. That covers a lot of ground. . .
HEY! Don't forget to block yeah.com. I just started getting "sneaky redirects" to yeah.com from a health website. They are listed in the Top 30 blocked sites on - http://www.adsblacklist.com/
they wont be showing for long, because Microsoft is gona sue google and yahoo for antitrust and monopoly
