yes we all get spam BUT they are not leaving links to their websites. I just got another one and the link was google. com!! I deleted them anyways because comment was spam. This must be automated commenting? I might email the commentor and ask why they left that link. if thats legal
so they keep rolling in. 10 so far today. all from different email addresses and all with different stupid spam message. name is random but link is either yahoo google facebook or bing homepage. Please someone let me know whats going on. lol. I find this so weird. plmerlin: care to extend your answer to what I really need to know... I know every one gets spam.
Check the IP of the spammers if they are similar or coming from difference classes - if they are from the same IP just block it in .htaccess - for my blog I have about blocked through .htaccess
ah ty ty. plmerlin. thats a good idea. I still dont understand WHy do they leave a link to google yahoo facebook? Cant help anybody any. does it hurt my site at all? Anyone else ever been spammed like this. thats what I really want and dare I say Need to know.
I had links to non-existent sites, I think these spammers are trying auto commenting tools - I don't think it would hurt your site unless it grows to huge proportions. If you are using wordpress, the best is to click plugins, add new and search for Akismet and install it - it will kill 99% of the spam comments.
yeah your right my friend just verified it is from scrapebox and the reason its google link is user is leaving and testing footprints to see where he can actually place his real links also did a " " search for just one of the phrases left in my comments and google returned over 17 thousand results. super spammer. By the way it is a site hosted at 1and1
