Yahoo closes auction site

Looks like Yahoo is finally closing its auction website which was never popular.
Wonder how many people have used the yahoo auction service or were even aware of it.

there's really alot of changes in yahoo web services...

 

I guess they are trying to get rid off less profitable services.

 

Yahoo acution in japan is actually bigger than ebay, but oterh than that yahoo tanked

 

Yeah, I was going to say that they should be doing pretty well in Japan. They call it "yahoo oku."

 

Honestly, I never knew Yahoo had an auction site :shrug:

 

I used yahoo auctions several times when I was in the drop shipping business... lots of Nigerians on there... but still got alot of good sales

 

I did not know about it, but I am not from the US. Cant believe they did not make money on it.

 

I only found out they had an auction site yesterday when adding my ebay account to paypal. Said something about not working with Yahoo! auctions. Confused me at first

 

Yahoo Auctions were some disenfranchised eBay sellers only hope, and uBid is just too restrictive for many mom and pop startups.

I've personally had great sucess with Google Products and Google Base.

They are also closing down yahoo pictures and will promote flickr now.
