Yahoo Cancelled my Domain

I signed up for a domain a couple weeks ago and it is working fine and everything is cool. But a couple days later after registering that domain I registered another domain with the same credit card but different yahoo account. After a couple days all of a sudden I go to my domain and the page reads "domain temporarily disabled, contact customer service". I call them and they say the order went through but there was some problem with the information of the credit card so it was cancelled so I had to re-sign up(not knowing that re-signing up doesn't mean signing up again for the same one year registration, instead they charge you and extend the service for another year.. and they don't tell you this upfront) so I re-activated it and then it got cancelled again this morning and I call the billing again and they tell me to re-activate it, I found out about the extra year charges and everything and I told I won't extend my service with yahoo so I won't re-activate and that was the end of it. The domain remains registered under my name with yahoo but it is disabled because Yahoo claims they didn't receive any payments(I don't know why but maybe Yahoo's merchant let the order through but later on the information didn't match my other domain which is registered with Yahoo so they cancelled this domain). So if I have to re-activate and be able to use my domain I have to pay another $9.95 which would extend the service through 2011. I initially intended to sign up for 1 year with the promotional plan of $1.99 for first year that they have there. Anyways did this happen to anyone else? They told me it was past the grace period and they can't release the domain so I have to pay. Do I have any other options? I can pay them the original $1.99 for the first year and they have to cancel the extra year and activate the domain but seeing as things are, it can be complicated.

Just try to resolve it in a nice manner with Yahoo, they are certainly not after the tiny amount of money. It is a misunderstanding which can be resolved peacefully without sending money to your lawyers.

Has the money came out of your credit card yet?

The payment might be pending, but it may not be showing up on your statement and it certainly seems like using the 2 different yahoo accounts is causing the problem as it looks like fraud when the same card is being used by 2 'people' (accounts) with different information.

    Have BOTH domains been disabled?

Or did one get disabled, you reactivated it and then the other domain got disabled?

When you get it straightened, transfer to another registrar.

Yahoo doesn't have that great a reputation as a registrar. I would just spend the extra 5-6 bucks and find a better registrar.
Less headaches for the price of a coffee. :)
