See this story that shows that Yahoo is also susceptible to bombing in the same way as Google.

Yahoo is much *more* susceptible to search engine manipulation... That's why SEOs like Yahoo. :)

if you are in a NON-comercial site ( like me ) Y ranking is most of the time identical with G ranking of each page.

The purely com oriented sites - there i found th etop 100 or so almost entirely those sites having paid inclusions .. hence no relevant query answers in com areas only $ relevant results

i saw that very recently durining one of the site reviews - an older and Y indexed com site showing up nicely in G NOT at all in Y among top 100 ...

Yahoo! generally is a joke to optimize for. Its like spring training pitching compared to Google.

So tell us what you think the basic methods are that will get you ranked in Yahoo.

And has anybody developed a tool yet for tracking your position in Yahoo?

Yahoo provides better results as compared to Google.
But may be can be strong technically because i am not a programmer who develop algorithms for GOOGLE.

Both search engines are providing best information overall.

Yahoo and google both are good search engines. Google displays more search results for a specific keyword than google.

I'm pretty sure that any search engine today is susceptible to "bombing".
Yahoo and Bing doesn't even care about your site getting large amounts of backlinks in no time.

Yeah, I have to agree here. Yahoo along with most engines are able to be bombed. A lot of times, it looks like yahoo just copies google's own results depending on the keyword. Bing however, seems to really favor exact match domain names for some reason.

I agree. I think Bing is also geared more towards exact match.

Yahoo behaves in odd fashion for some of my sites. For one of my major keywords, it ranks the target page much below what it deserves. This page ranks in top 5 in Google.com but on Yahoo it is at 40th position. Moreover, the page's title, as shown by Yahoo, is the main keyword. I think the trouble is that there are too many links which point back to this page using this keyword as the anchor text and due to this abnormally high backlink keyword density, the page in question is being penalized by Yahoo.
