But it went to the answer machine. They said it was about my Yahoo Publisher Network account, do you think it's good or bad? I just don't want to call them back and hear, "I am banned." It was a real person calling also.
I think it is VERY unlikley that it is to do with your Yahoo account - I mean they must be millions of people using their YPN, and I am sure they have better things to do then call people at random. I'd be more worried at the thought it could be someone trying to scam you
I get calls from eBay all the time, promotional offers and stuff. Hell, I don't sell but a couple grand a month usually and thats only a couple auctions.
Your telling me Yahoo called you to ask if you were having any problems LMAO .. maybe they should spend more time improving it's search engine, than wasting time ringing people about YPN.
eBay I can understand.. but a major player in the search engine ringing people up about something trivial like YPN is a joke IMO
They said it was Chane Liz and to talk about my Yahoo Publisher Network account. They said to call them back at 866-785-2636. Does that number look right? Cause I'm wondering if it's a scam also.
Very understandable. As you all know very well, Adsense has a huge market share and Yahoo! wants to gain some territory. Maybe it wants to emphasise the fact that Yahoo offers superior customer service than Adsense. If you get a phone call from Y, chances are you'll tell your mates and in this way they build a good reputation and better their chances of getting a larger market share of web publishers... Not that farfetched if you ask me.
Y! has called me in the past. They only do customer service over the phone. Bad news goes through email.
Yahoo Customer service has called several times about YPN. They seem intent on trying to get feedback to improve their service. They are trying to tap into a billion dollar market. I think it is smart. If only they could improve the rest of their customer service. Trying to get them to respond to an indexing question or a question about a paid directory listing is next to impossible. It seems google is also trying to improve their customer service - imo, a direct result of another player trying to come in and take a share of a business they have dominated.
Wow, Darren's going to have to run naked...shouting... Darren get a buddy to take pics to prove this, you can blur out the iggy biggies ok!?
Okay I admit defeat, I've booked a flight to Ontario, and I'll be running around Colleen's street! Just make sure people in doors, people could get hurt with that thing flapping around! Anyway Yahoo must only do that to US customers, because they do shit in the UK, apart from provide crap traffic and a naff out of date site. Can you tell I don't like Yahoo?
PwrUps- The official YPN support number is 1(800)785-2636, just as you stated earlier in post #7. (I don't know whether you have to dial a 1 first or not, as we have to do in California). I called it earlier today. It works great - fast response time!
When you mention that thing flapping around - Are you talking about the stomach ? like in my case........ LOL The only thing that hangs or flaps on me anymore is my stomach, damn them 'pork rinds'
I called back and it turned out noone was able to help since they were helping other people. I decided to not bother calling them back again now, if it was something important they would call again.
Ive been with them since Nov 1 or so, they have never called me or left a message on the answering machine.
I starting get calls about two months back and they are still coming in. Hi, this is Ryan from Yahoo, please give me a call.... It's about advertising with them. They have a special going on (long special) where they waive any fees and also give you some spending cash. Persistence is good, the more advertisers they get on board, the better; I just wish they would stop calling me.
