Yahoo Fires New Volley in E-Mail Wars Thought this might interest someone or other here. I haven't personally had a Yahoo email account since back in the last century.
I have 2 accounts but just pop in every few weeks so they don't get cancelled. Haven't really used them in months. Yahoo's interface is ugly as hell, full of ads and banners all over the place.
thanks to firefox with adblock extension, goodbye ads inside yahoo mail.... i like their calendar and notepad too... maybe gmail should have those in the future...
I use Yahoo Mail exclusively and love it to pieces. They recently added a new autocomplete feature for email addresses when writing in the To: field. That was extra sweet. I still think 1GB is too much though, I've had my account for 6 years and still haven't used 50MB. At this rate it's gonna take me another 114 years!!
I like my yahoo email. The only constant in my life for the past decade has been the yahoo email address and family. The saved emails from the previous millenium are interesting. Relationships / professional / travel- blah blah blah. A cool look back every blue moon. The extra space is great...so important stuff (sort of) doesnt need to be deleted.
Don't think they normally count spam as part of your quota, at least not if it gets filtered as such and put in the spam folder... or at least, they bloody well shouldn't!
Well, there you have it. I didn't know there were so many Yahoo email fans out there. Maybe I should give them another try. But, how many email addresses does one man need? I can hardly keep track of the umpteen that I have.
I think I'll stick with my gmail account. I like the "searchability" it offers and spam filtering. My wife does like the new space on her yahoo account (though she'll never fill it all up).
A company called Mail2World (www.mail2world.com) is now offering FREE unlimited email storage. They just sent out a press release about this: http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/050418/084907.html
