I seemed to have forgot people may not know and new people join the internet each day. Pardon my insensitive posting.

Very true statement...I have seen studies where retailers of products under $100.00 do very well with Yahoo traffic.

    :)

    No

Yahoo has been # 1 traffic site for over 10 years.

Yahoo Answers just was released recently.

Please read each post in a thread before commenting with inaccurate guesses.....

Right, and that's why I said:

Yahoo currently receives more traffic than Google, period. That's what the topic of this thread is.

Whether or not that remains the case is another story...I personally think that Google will overcome Yahoo in raw traffic, but it hasn't yet.

That is traffic, not searches. People use google many as a search engine while many people use yaho for their apps such as email as well as for their content.

NO.. you are wrong.... According to Alexa Yahoo! is the No 1 for the past many years... But recently in Alexa Google overtaked MSN in traffic and claimed the No. 2 and MSN slipped to No. 3... Google had never became No. 1 in ALEXA

I know, lol...How many times do we have to say it?

In terms of traffic, Yahoo is #1 in the US and in the world...Stop saying that Google is, lol

Well, yahoo has everything you will need to make a life out of it. It started the concept of search engine, although it began as a directory. Yahoo health, finance and so many others are oceans within themselves.

Well, google is a great SE

I don't think so. People in Google are more likely to search for Google, than Yahoo. Just like people in Yahoo will search more for Yahoo, than for Google. :)

Thats why I gave an example with independent service (Alexa), and as I see here, it's not so "independent". ;)

Just because Yahoo has more options in its home page.. People browse through them..
and at google, people come only to search.

I have to say, I've been watching google and yahoo for referrals. In the last 3 weeks it's nearly identical between the two

The Google traffic stats also don't take into account all of the traffic that Google generates through youtube, which they own. If google made youtube part of google.com and not all on its own, they would outrank yahoo.

I buy PPC ads on both Yahoo and Google and for a majority of my campaigns, Google provides more volume. So my vote is for Google as the traffic king.

Yeah, but even with the bias Google Trends says Yahoo is a more popular term.
