Yep, I've noticed the same, up by 1400 links. Yahoo seems to fluctuate alot, then one day it'll jump right up then begin to fluctuate again. Strange.

I am also seeing an increase on many sites, but it is in the 100s, not 1,000s.

from 3000 backlinks jumped to 5000. I'm also surprised since I'm not doing massive link building.

    Hello All,

I just want to let you know that Yahoo is not really accurate as it shows as backlinks links from your own pages. Aka if you have 300 pages indexed from your website that point to your homepage, you will see 300 backlinks+ as backlinks but they are not really "off-site" backlinks as Google Sitemaps "links from external pages" tool shows. If your website has a lot of pages indexed you will see a lot of backlinks, but this does not mean that you really have backlinks from other pages.

I had some thing happen to few of my sites. One one site it jumped by 1000 backlinks. It makes me wonder if it had anything to do with recent Google PR change. I am wondering id Yahoo takes Google PR in to the Account. The only thing that I could think of is that the backlinks that were on the pages that did not have PR or were not indexed by Google when Google updated those pages PR Yahoo indexed them also?

You do dis-service to your signature by making such a claim.
Yahoo allows you to filter all backlinks to your site by using the "except from this domain" option in SiteExplorer.

Ok, that's a good way to filter links, but still Google Sitemaps Link tool is much better.

I've found that if there are pages on your site that don't exist any more, or links that don't exist, it takes yahoo a long time to take them off their listings as pages or inbound links.
