Correct backlinks are shown in Webmaster tools. Even if your site has many backlinks, it won't show up in search results and some times it shows few links. I'm not sure why is this.
I think here nothing is easy to achieve, backlinks are easy to achieve if you do hard work.. which is important in any serach engine.
Yahoo will display all your site backlinks even if your site is new while google not. You will still need to wait until the next update before you can see your google backlinks.
