Hey, i'm tying to figure out how much backs links i have for a domain. Can anyone explain to me whats the difference between "link:URL" and "links:URL". for example if I search link:http://google.com results = 1,060,000 links:http://google.com results = 51,000,000 thanks
Syntax: link:[fully qualified doamin] both for Google and MSN mind you www.domain.com(3rd level/or alias of domain.com) is different from domain.com (2nd level)
I am new to all this and reading as much as possible to gain popularity and so on for my new website. When you are talking about Link: and Linkdomain:, where are you typing this to get your info. Also, do you all mind checking out my site and letting me know what you think? It is TexasAtNite
You type this into the search bar of google and yahoo. linkdomain: only works on yahoo. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=link:http://www.texasatnite.com/&n=100
Try Yahoo! Site Explorer or MSN: linkdomain:www.yoursite.com to see all of the links pointing to your site link:www.yoursite.com to see the links pointing just to the index page Google no longer displays all of the links indexed, and the ones they do list are usually the lower quality links.
Thanks first of all. What is a good way to start getting more back links? This is a better way to get a nice PR and rank higher in searches for your keywords right?
keep posting in this forum with your signature having links to your sites... that's what most of the forum users are doing here... no real info just back links...
yeah i am working on that but, you have to post a certain amount before you can do signatures. once you start posting in forums, how long should i post on a certain page? does it help more to continue posting?
Just participate in all the threads. Ask questions and give tips. Before you know you will have posted thousands of valuable posts.
Yeah I got all that taken care of now. I am slowly picking up tricks of the trade. There is a lot I never even knew about. I read another thing about blogging and linking it to your site b/c the blogs rank quick.
So I ask again, does it help to continue to post in a certain forum more than once? Does Google see that as more votes or when you post once does that get the job done? Not here, but other forums just blow after a while.
I have seen my sig from the same forum in my Yahoo BLs (google is slow). Sig links aren't as valuable as "normal" links because of the way they are easy to obtain.
That site explorer helped me find out that while I thought a site I work on was completely indexed, only the 12 pages using site submit express have been getting crawled by Slurp.
i tryed for my site all three search engines showing different backlinks.i think google is too slow.msn showing showing more.
