Yahoo at it Again

Since Friday afternoon around 4pm EST, I'm showing 1 page indexed in Yahoo, down from over 4,000.

My Yaho traffic has gone from sending around 200 visitors a day at my main site (ishophq) to 3.

Yet over the last 3 days I've had over 2,000 hits from Slurp, so the bot is showing up and crawling my site, but none of the pages are sticking.

Anyone else seeing any Yahoo funny business?

Yahoo! has been sending me more referrals than ever.

What do all four of you have in common? Maybe you can figure out what is happening.

MSN has jumped ahead of Yahoo in my opinion in terms of relevant results. Yahoo might have the least "spammy" results, but they also have the least relevant results.

No...no adsense...no spammy things...inclusion into their directory changed my title in results for my homepage..

Google traffic is up...no real concerns, but I would like my yahoo traffic back

Adsense yes, Site around 8 months old, had over 4,000 indexed pages, was 1 this morning and is not 9.

I did add a new server component to rewrite URLs to elminate query strings.

I customized my 404 to send people to the home page if they try to access a page that no longer exits.

Best I can figure is that Yahoo did a recheck of existing links, all of which forward it to the home page, hence that was the only one that shows up.

So I'm thinking I need to hang tough and my pages will start to come back as Yahoo finds the 'new' ones.

Lesson learned... make sure URL rewrite still accetps old format links!

lol... All I can say is that I have many sites using adsense, they all rank with no problems at all on MSN and Yahoo, so we can cut that option out :D

I have also been adding a lot of pages lately for a small site...about doubled in size the past month from about 170 to 350...I doubt that could be much of a factor as yahoo does not know about them yet.

hmm... yes, I just re-read the post and it seems that the problem is with your amount of indexed pages and not your rankings.

But then... what is the problem?? I couldn't care less if I had one single page indexed at Yahoo as long as visitors keep coming in. The coop uses the pages indexed at Google, so I really don't see what the problem is
    ?

I am not interested in my pages indexed either...I am interested that I am seeing 10% of the traffic I was a month ago from yahoo...

    my rankings have not moved
