Yahoo answers works well if you take the time to give good answers - if your answers are voted to be the best and you "win" and you've got enough posts (I thought it was 250, rather than 300 - perhaps this has changed) your links go live. It's time consuming though and you need to be committed to reach the 250 mark to get the links live. You'll get a little extra traffic from your posts before you reach the link-live mark if people are interested enough in your answer, but if you're looking for long term traffic via back links then be prepared to put in the time and effort. It's good to get traffic from different sources so Yahoo could be one of the traffic streams.

Finding a category of which you widely know is ofcourse an advantage to have you answering most of the questions just easy although you can't always have your link posted in every answer as it may seem too spammy. Yahoo may reject your account especially when they notice that you are taking advantage of answering. What's best then is to moderately share your links and just feel free to answer queries, aiming for more best answers chosen. That way, you'll be more trusted.

 

If your answers are not relevant you will find they will quickly ban your account.

I have some good results... i sold some amazon products as a result of answering questions.

i tried not to do it often to avoid from getting banned.
