Has anyone here used Yahoo Answers as a way to build links? or to gain traffic? I read this somewhere, but am not to familiar with it. I want to know other peoples input on this?
yahoo answers is nofollow so will not be much of a help when it comes to google. yahoo and bing will however count those links. be extremely careful how you use yahoo answers as they are very strict on spamming links on the posts. if other members report your post, you might get banned. you can only use a link in the resource if the link has anything to do with the question or your answer. besides, you will need to be atleast level 2 author before your link will be live. just browse around the site and get a feel for it
I wouldn't buy them, it only takes a week or so and I think having a number of posts without links usually helps keep you in the game for longer. Huge traffic from YA to be sure. SEO benefits can be small (do you believe in do-follow?), but can certainly add up over time and it's really easy to throw some deep links at your site.
I post answers regularly (few times a week) regarding questions that are related to my website niche. I give genuine answers and leave a link back to my site where I find it appropriate. I think it's a good way of getting targetted traffic, although the traffic is very minor (i'm talking maybe 10 visitors a week). I think the key is to actually provide genuine advice and answers. Don't just span the boards, it will just downgrade your site and no one will take notice.
it's not a good way to get backlinks in my opinion .. they are nofollow and you have to answer with a relevant answer onlty ofc
Thanks you for the info. Even I think participating in yahoo answers bring a lot of traffic related to your website niche.
I am also at good level in Yahoo answer, But I realized that some of my competitor started abusing my answer and yahoo deleted that entry also my l was getting nofollow link, so I quit yahoo answer, still I got some traffic from there.
Its a very good way to get targetted traffic to your website if done correctly...... I havent used it in ages yet still get a lot of visitors to one of my sites that I linked on there.
You just have to remember you're never going to get huge traffic streams from it. It's a lot of work for little reward if you do it properly. It depends how much you value a little amounts of traffic. I like having it as an extra traffic stream, even if it's only 10-20 visitors a week, the main thing being that I know the traffic I get from there are people with a specific interest in my niche. I would rather have 20 targetted unique visitors a week than 200 non-targetted, but it all depends on how you monetize your website I guess
just be simple, don't post too many links or links where not asked in questions ? remain alive and make your profile questions and answers private be safe
As long as the posts are seen as valuable or helpful its worth the time. Don't just post "buy shoes", add relevant information. Sick
as these links are no follow which mean google will not count but its bring massive traffic & help you in yahoo & bing ranking... I used it for my self but only i answer where i'm good and my ranking is 47% Best answer with level 2 there.
I have been using Yahoo Answers for about a month now. I would have been a level 2 author already but someone keeps reporting my answers and they immediately get taken off. I had to appeal a lot of them and Yahoo ruled in my favor so they posted them back. Come to find out they banned the person who was falsely reporting my answers because he was reporting my answer and when it got taken off he would post the same answer to take credit for it. A Black Hat tactic if you ask me. After that little glitch though I feel that Yahoo Answers definitely gets you relevant visitors back to your site. Even though I am still a level 1 author and my link that I post is not live yet I have gotten several emails, (at the email listed on my site), from yahoo members with questions and comments about my site. I hope to see more progress / visitors when I reach level 2.
Well Yahoo is nofollow, so I dont think the link has much value. However, that site can get you a lot of traffic if you play your cards right. BTW its easy to get banned, so be careful..
If you write good quality answers it can bring in some great targetted traffic, but it is also really easy to get banned. To make it work effectively you really need to spend a fair amount of time being helpful.
