I used to promote proxy sites there and I got some loyal visitors from there. You just have to answer questions that are very related to your sites theme. For example, to promote proxy sites, I search for answers like "How to unblock MySpace?" etc...
Serious answers with related link to your own website are fine. I get good targeted traffic from YA, lot of people joined my cooking site from there. One of them is now a Mod in the forum.
I get a lot of traffic using Yahoo answers. If you post your link in the source box and it's relevant to the question you shouldn't have a problem.
Actually i got a sale for one affiliate program with using just yahoo answers. It seems to work sometimes. Take care!
I have never tried yahoo answers. I think I might have to check it out. hopefully I get some good hits there. I didnt know you can post your website on there
I agree with some former post. In my view Yahoo answers is not worth the time promoting your site. MySpace and craiglist are much more efficient. Cheers THomas
I get no traffic from yahoo answers... Ive got 16 "best answers" all with a back link to my site. The site actually contains the information posted in the answer so its not considered spam, but no traffic results. I think it just depends on the question and your site.
I get a lot of hits from Yahoo answers on one of my blogs from a question I answered about My Space and the question was resolved 2 weeks ago.
I love Yahoo Answers, but I find it very addicting - which makes it a time waster, because I love seeing my points increase instead of doing the work I should be doing. However, it's a great way to send targeted traffic while also building a name for yourself.
