Yes, you can get some modest traffic from them, but they're very strict about ejecting anyone if they get a complaint about any posts that have a link to your site.
I'm sure there will be someone saying 'even anchor text links on nofollow carry some weight,' sure, but not very much.
Yahoo! Answers is outdated. They don't give backlinks, and I don't think they even allow hyperlinks on their answers. It is a great source for direct traffic to your website, but I'm sure you already know that.
@YugoSlavac: Do some research before you answer a post that you don't know what the heck you are talking about. Yahoo Answers ALLOWS backlinks if you are at a certain member level. And yes, they allow relevant hyperlinks on the answers. Please THINK before you respond with untruths. IMHO Yahoo Answers is crap, you get maybe a couple visitors and a nofollow link (which gives a little strength to your SERPS) plus Yahoo Answers seems to be dominated by kids postings stupid/irrelevant responses. You are better to focus your time on other link building strategies.
Yes, I use yahoo answers for a good amount of traffic to my websites Pay someone to post on yahoo answers, and your on your way to some good targeted website traffic
Yahoo Answers, IMHO, is great for getting natural visitors who are truly interested in your site, because you gave a good answer, or the link is directly relevant to whatever question you are answering.
Based on my experience Yahoo answer can't give you backlinks that much, but it can drive a lot of traffic to your site especially if you are chosen as the best answer,
do yahoo answer allow links appear? I do not think so. Maye this is not a follow or no-follow question. Also I do not think yahoo will use google "nolollow" skill on its own site links.
I dont think they are nofollow, I have posted my links with my answers and I can see them as a backlink in my webmaster tools.
Okay folks, I know this is pretty rudimentary but all you have to do is take a look at the source code. See: The source code shows: Please take a look at the SOURCE CODE before you say they are or aren't follow links.
I got a level 2 profile and i dun use yahoo answers much but whenever i answer some question that is way too descriptive or relevant to the question and that is why i got 41% best answers and none of them is fake I use links with my answers and do get some visits and i think so they are real visitors who are interested in that kind of websites so i don't care about backlinks or PR increase Thanks PHYza
Users above level 2 get backlinks -- the key to successfully answering questions and getting best answers is to vote on your own answers 2-5 days after you answer any question -- This makes your answer top answer usually by one vote. Build up your yahoo answers level rankings and you can also get dofollow links as well as nofollow reference links
Yahoo! backlinks counts dofollow AND nofollow links but Google counts the nofollow links as halves of the full page rank value (say your link is a nofollow on a PR 4 page, you get a PR 2 link to your site due to the nofollow
@deus ex: Show specific examples to support your claims, screen shots, source code, anything. You can't vote for one Question more than once, as for your google pagerank comment you are way off base. It's wise not to make comments you can't back up with evidence, unless you work for google you can only speculate as to how nofollow links are processed for PR/link strength. Prove me wrong but yahoo answers only does nofollow for all associated links a user provides in their 'answer.'
