Although I am a Beginner and not so acquainted with the kind of forums available on the web, I started my Journey with Yahoo Answers and found that 80% of my questions are resolved with the help of different Yahoo users who are posting answers to my questions. Now I am happy with most of my problems being faded away. Apart from all these positive comments, I would also like to say that for my each question at least 20% of the users posting answers are actually spammers.

Yup... Internet is definitely evolving.
And customers are getting smarter and smarter and really hard to foul for who is UP TO THIS. But a sale should occur naturally, and when you do that, selling can be piece of cake, not to mention that on Yahoo.Answers can be fun too.

I quit promoting myself about a year ago. And I can definitely see some improvements. When you're up to helping people out, you get your share no mater if you want it or not. You can't stop this.

People can smell spammers and scamers.

Another possibility is that I see a lot of people just "answering the wrong questions" and not to the point. If you want to be an authority this is definitely the wrong way to post answers.

Besides, advertising a "money making" program on a "weight loss" question can't get wronger. Still, if you search for answers, you get a ton of misleading answers.

Agreed... This is just another great way. To bad that if to many people finds out about it, I am afraid Wiki's gonna be spammed too.
But I think they are quite prepared to deal with spam since they ban IPs. ;)

If you think "no follow" really matters then you need to do some research before you start talking.

Well i ranked on top of google for some keywords(example wii softmod method) by using yahoo answers so it's pretty usefull for low competitive keywords.

Its really tiring answering people's question.
But you must think what you are doing, what is the worth & what is your aim to not get tired.

Yes, I got traffic with Yahoo answers.
But the chances of getting your account cancelled is very high.
If some one repeatedly reports on you, you are gone.
They wont look why they reported? Dont know how the people at Yahoo is working?

Watch your clock while answering the questions otherwise it can become a time sink !

If your businesss model is primarily driven by adsense revenue then stumbleupon or digg are better source for traffic than yahoo.

If your main revenue comes from conversions then yahoo is better cuz' the traffic although less than digg or stumble or twitter, is much more targetted .

What i like about Yahoo Answers is the traffic seems to be very consistent, so the intitial effort in posting a lot of relevant answers is worthwhile.
